The Weekend of a Life Time...

Ok ok ok...so I told myself I was never going to join the blogging world...then a few weeks ago, Anton was telling me how I need to get over my fear of blogging...I told him there was no need for my life to be "blogged"...he simply giggled and said I would have a reason to blog very soon....

Low and behold, that boy had a few plans up his sleeve. Yes, all the rumors are true...I'm not sure if they're even rumors now...but for the few behind the times...

I am ENGAGED!!!
I try and make myself say that over and over again to see if at some point it will actually hit me that I am in fact engaged...but here I am, 2 days after..and it still hasn't even hit me.

As with all engaged couples, I have been asked non-stop about how it all happened, where this boy came from (mars), what my ring looks like, the weekend was supposed to be a vacation, not an engagement trip...so what the heck happened right??
For the sake of my voice, and my memory. My mother and fiance... (is that how you say it...fiance..am I saying that right.. :) ) told me to write everything down...and since they pretty much know everything I figured it was a good idea...

First of all, for those that don't even know who this Anton character is, let me explain. Anton started working at Los Alamos National Lab about a year ago. I met him last summer, when I moved home for the summer. We dated casually, because I was heading to Utah in August for school. However this crazy boy, kept after me...and somehow got me to fall in love with him.  A couple weeks ago, he moved out to Alameda California for a great job. By Christmas I knew I wanted to marry him, we were just waiting for the right time...and wouldn't you look at that...guess now is that time..

So readers/family/friends/stalkers: here is the story of a weekend that changed my life forever...

Friday February 18th:
I flew to Oakland California. Valentine's day had been on Monday, and along with very cute Valentine package, Anton was giving me a plane ticket to go visit him in California. What a great gift right...sure made my Hallmark card to him look pretty lame, but all was well, he still loved me.:)

Despite the horrible weather. We had a great night, and could not stop talking. That night I went to sleep with a smile on my face all night long.

Saturday February 19th:
Woke up early to start my day full of adventures. While laying in bed talking to my mom I was interrupted by the maid bringing my breakfast in bed (Anton thought of everything). Already my day had started off perfect, the pouring rain outside wasn't depressing at all. With a morning full of outdoor mall shopping, and lots and lots and lots and lots of laughter, I was pretty sure I could never be happier...

The ring I got the night before...it's hard to see in the picture but its just a silver band that is engraved with "I love you"...

He loves Nike..he literally wants to be Nike...can you tell???

I told him he looks like an Avatar in this picture..he'll probably be mad it is up here...but shsss he'll get over it... :)

Of course we went to Chipotle for lunch...yummy bean burritos!!

For dinner we decided on a nice pizza place over by my hotel. My charming Brazilian boyfriend surprised me with some green diamond earrings. They are BEAUTIFUL..and Im not being biased...I have yet to take them out of my ears.
Again...went to sleep that night with an even bigger smile, convincing myself that really there was nothing better than life at that moment....

(You can kinda see the earrings...sorry didn't get a good picture of them..and yes I know my hair looks awful...but people palease..it RAINED ALL DAY LONG)

Sunday February 20th:
Finally, the sun was out. Today was our day of site seeing and adventures. After church, we decided to make a stop at the Oakland LDS temple before making our way towards San Fran...

The view of the city from the temple.

Us in front of the temple (sorry my face blocks the temple..my bad)

It was at the temple that things started to get fishy. While walking around the top of the temple Anton spent a good amount of time, explaining to me that getting engaged to him was a fantastic idea. As Im sure all of you know...Im a very stubborn person, and really only see things one way...aka as the way Danielle wants. So sitting there being persuaded by my boyfriend to not be in control of almost everything was a unique conversation to say the least. We left the temple on that note, and spent the afternoon on the beach and at parks.

That night, Anton had made a reservation at a very fancy restaurant for dinner. We were all dressed up and ready for the dinner an hour before our reservation.... so Anton suggested we take a walk on Stanford University's campus. For those that have not been there..it really is beautiful. Anton was a good sport and tried to be as excited about their library as I was. As we kept walking..Anton was becoming silent.... Just as it was getting almost too silent the clock tower chimed 5:45, of course being distracted by the gorgeous tower and needing a picture for my collection of photos.... I left Anton to straggle behind....realizing that I was all alone, I turned around to find my Anton on his knee with a ring in his hand. I don't think I screamed, but its hard to tell cause I really was in shock. I got a ring on my left hand, so I guess that means I said "yes".

That night I did not sleep...I was too happy to sleep.

Monday February 21st:
Anton ended up not having to work because of the oil spill something or another, so we got to spend more of the day looking at parks and site seeing parts of northern Cali. It was a very warm afternoon, which was making it very hard for me to have to head towards the airport.

It was a rough, or shall I say miserable (not an exaggeration) good bye. But we made it through. And again, got to sit next to an 80 year old grandpa (stranger #2) that got to hear all about my proposal.
At 3 in the morning, after a long delayed flight. I got to go to sleep in my own bed again...and this time, I stayed up all night convincing myself that the past few nights weren't a dream.

I am so very happy. Anton is the best. Not only do I have to remind myself that I am in fact engaged..but that I was lucky enough to find the best guy in the world...and I am so excited to spend forever with my very best friend. I feel better then Cinderella...hmm yeah..he does make me feel that great!

This picture says it better then I ever could....

Im getting married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
